Recommendations for the process of classification of dams in Brazil

The Brazilian National Policy on Dam Safety (PNSB) was enacted in 2010 and there are still many actions to be carried out, especially the classification of dams as associated hazard potential (PHA) risk category (RC). analysis conducted based Report 2020 informs that 21953 distributed throughout territory registered Information System (SNISB). However, 14849 (67.64%) were not classified RC 13475 (61.38%) PHA. There 3724 high PHA, 2407 (64.64%) which considered small terms reservoir capacity. Considering this scenario, bibliographic research dam criteria used Brazil, Portugal, International Commission Large (ICOLD) United States. In addition, two studies artificial intelligence-based tools forecast PHA classification. As a result, study recommends future with indicated applications intelligence Brazil.
